BTB Blades

BTB's cutting blades are colour coded YELLOW, ORANGE, BLUE or GREEN to identify the type of removal application they are designed for. All blades have a rounded (radius) side and a flat side. Acting in the same manner as a rudder steers a boat, the rounded side ensures that the flat side of the blade cutting tip will face and hug the glass or panel surface you want to cut against. BTB's patented cutting depth control system ensures you only cut as deep as required, avoiding unnecessary vehicle damage.

All BTB blades can be used in the BTB WK10HD pneumatic power tool, "E-Tool" battery power tool or in WK7 or WK7L manual blade handles.

Regular Non-Serrated Blades (YELLOW)

The cutting tip of the YELLOW blades are rounded on top and flat underneath. Designed to cut with the flat side against the glass surface, leaving the urethane on the vehicle body.

The non serrated blades are also used for body moulding, badge & emblem removal in the bodyshop/dismantler environment.

Regular Serrated Blades (YELLOW)

BTB's serrated blades provide a faster cut-out than the non-serrated blades. The cutting tip of these blades are rounded on top and flat underneath. Designed to cut with flat side against the glass surface, leaving the urethane on the vehicle body.

Reverse Grind Blades (ORANGE)

The cutting tip of the ORANGE blades are a reverse grind of the yellow blades, being flat on top and rounded underneath with serrated edges. Designed for encapsulated glass removal, these blades cut with flat side against the vehicle body, leaving the urethane on the glass while avoiding contact with encapsulation.

Safety Edge "V" blades (GREEN)

The GREEN blades are a safety edge version of the YELLOW blades. These blades have the cutting edge suspended away from each blade surface to avoid possible damage while cutting against the painted panel surface on softer material panels such as aluminium, fibreglass, polycarbonates or PVC or where panel may have high or low areas (panel joins, lap-overs or spot-welds).

The BLUE bladese  are a safety edge version of the ORANGE blades. These blades also have the cutting edge suspended away from each blade surface to avoid possible damage while cutting against the painted panel surface on softer material panels such as aluminium, fibreglass, polycarbonates or PVC or where panel may have high or low areas (panel joins, lap-overs or spot-welds).

Powered Cold Knife Blades

These are BTB's most popular blade range. Designed to cut from outside the vehicle, these blades work just like a manual cold knife or pull knife, except the BTB tool does the work for you, rather than having the strain of pulling a blade through the urethane.

Available in left and right facing tips and a range of tip lengths (S, M, L, XL) and regular grind (YELLOW) or reverse (ORANGE) grind. The YELLOW blades hug the glass surface for exposed edge glass removal and the reverse grind ORANGE blades steer toward the pinchweld for safe removal of undamaged encapsulated glass.

Pinchweld Trimming Blades

BTB's exclusive "winged" non-scratch pinchweld trimming blades provide easy and safe removal of excess urethane adhesive from the vehicle body and glass after glass or panel removal, leaving correct thickness of adhesive for re-bonding. Uniquely sharpened with radius grind underneath and special wings extending up each side, eliminating scratching of paintwork on pinchweld and vertical pinchweld wall, and most importantly, maintaining the integrity of the E-Coat. These blades are also excellent for removing urethane embedded with shattered glass e.g broken rear hatch glasses. Auto body repairers can also use these blades for removal of body deadener, seam sealer, hemlolock seals and spray on bed-liners. Available in a range of tip widths. Most commonly used in BTB's WK7 and WK7L manual handles but can also be used in the BTB power tools for heavier duty adhesive removal.

These blades are also excellent for capping/removing top section of encapsulation on damaged encapsulated glasses to allow access to adhesive from outside vehicle using BTB's Powered Cold Knife Blades.
